a second visit with my parents

In June I shared about how Emerson got to meet his grandpa [my dad] for the first time in person. My parents stayed a day with us and got to play with and visit with us and the little bit. When they left in June they didn't know if they would be able to come back to see us before heading back home to Thailand in August. There were hopes for them to stop back by, but they didn't know if they would be able to come back for sure until closer to the beginning of August [which by the way, it's August. How did that happen?!].

As it turned out they were able to stop by for a short little visit the other day. My parents got in fairly late on Sunday night and left mid-morning on Monday [so a very short almost 12 hour visit, of which half was sleeping hours]. Emerson was pretty surprised to see them when he woke up on Monday, but we went to the park and played in his room, read stories, and did a little of this and that, and he was happy to have visitors and the extra attention.

Even though it was a short little visit it was still nice to see my parents and we were glad they could stop by on their way north. And the next time E sees them he will be a real little boy [not that he's not a real boy right now, he is, I just mean that he'll be bigger and older and not a baby or toddler any more]! Crazy to think about. Anyhow...

oh that is great that they could stop by even for such a short visit. I bet he was surprised to wake up to grands! Kind of a pretty sweet surprise.

That is awesome! The interaction between your own child and your parents is the sweetest thing!
