july fourth weekend

This weekend looked a lot like our other days. We ran some errands and hung around the house. Saturday we went to a few shops to return/exchange a few things. It ended up being a short little outing, but it was nice to get out of the house just the same. After a late lunch and nap time we played for a while and then fixed some dinner. Landon and I debated about keeping Emerson up to see some fireworks and/or waking him up to see them once they started, but in the end we decided letting him sleep was good. He pretty much wakes up the crack of dawn regardless of when he goes to bed at night, so we figured he could use all the sleep he could get [and so could we].

Sunday morning we got up, ate some breakfast, and then went to church for the first time as a family of four. We even managed to make it to church a tiny bit early and get Emerson checked into the nursery. After the sermon was over we snuck out before the songs started because we knew Oliver would be hungry soon and we didn't want to stay at church for an hour after it was over. But I was still so proud of us for getting to church for the first time in about a month.

All in all it was a nice and quiet little weekend. I'm so thankful for these days that I get to spend at home with the people I love.
